Preparation Is Key

Life is truly a balancing act.  If you have this thing and that thing; well that other thing may fall.  Life is like that, when you are carrying on to many things or tasks at once.  For me, this month had to be amazing! Why? Because it's epilepsy awareness month of course.  I wanted to make it my goal to spread awareness via social media and in my hometown of Houma, La.

For starters, I had my month planned out-which is a great thing. Not great if you don't follow it, right?  I left some room just in case I needed extra time or got sick. And all those things happened this month, but I refused to stop.  Everyday I would wake up and pray.  Then begin my day.  Honestly,  my preparation for task began to fall to the waste side. I constantly felt rushed on the daily.  I'm not sure, if I couldn't say no to certain things or the fact I worry myself for no reason at all.  To me, it's about laying down the foundation for certain future projects-so I continued with each task.  I knew the work has to get done, but time has to be set aside for each task to grow.  I wasn't setting time aside. And if it is a rushed job, is it really a good job?

In my day to day, I try to take the time and not rush.  I hate the feeling of being rushed, at the same time some of my best work comes from spur of the moment ideas! So I try to cut myself some slack.

If you are prepared, you will never have to get ready-that's what I always tell myself.  Always stay ready, but staying ready takes a lot of preparation and time as well. Here are some ways to prepare and make your life easier! I promise you, it will work!!!

1.  Review your Planner Daily and/Weekly
By reviewing your planner, you will be better prepared for your days and your weeks.  It helps you, if you've overbooked yourself or need to meet a deadline.  You will be prepared daily.
2. Prepare The Night Before
Preparing the night before, saves time. You will know exactly what you have to do the next day.
3. Be thorough in preparation
By being thorough, means full of all the details.  For instance, if you have an event to attend, but you have to buy a dress and shoes before-add that to it!! Those details are lifesavers.  I know for me, they help so much.
4. Take time to prepare
By taking time to prepare, you will be saving a lot of time. Yall just take 30 MINUTES OUT OF YOUR DAY!  If you have errors, you can fix them.  If you have any work need to be written, you'll have time to do so. You will see results!
5.  Pre-work
Do as much of the pre-work as you can.  Noting due dates, deadlines, and meetings.  I usually try to do this every week or when something is add to my list, I add it to my calendar.
6.  Set time aside to prepare!
I myself, didn't like to prepare.  It's because it's so overwhelming at times, but it's more overwhelming to not be prepared.

All I know is if you are prepared, you will never have to get ready!
I'll be prepared!
