When I get up, which is usually 5 or 6 in the morning. I try to reframe from using any social media for at least 10 to 15 minutes. You don't understand, that is a sacrifice for me, but a good one. So I laid in bed and right when I grabbed my phone, I stopped myself. Here are the things I do to get my day started!
1. I pray.
I ask God to utilize me and I am NOTHING without Him.
2. I read my book of Promises
i have a book of Promises for Women of Faith by my bed and I read whatever I need at the time. Today, for instance I needed the "Rest in His Peace" section. Psalm 27:5 goes like this "For in the time of trouble, he shall hide me in His pavillion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock." I was drawn to that because, I needed peace this morning and I awoke uneasy. I prayed and I went to scripture.
3. I meditate.
Mind you, it is HARD FOR ME TO DO THIS...!!! i am literally a work in progress, but when I truly disconnect via no phone or television and I'm sitting there. It is so peaceful.
